The Avenues (Arabic: الأفنيوز ‎) mall is the largest mall and shopping center in Kuwait.[1] It is soon to be one of the largest malls in the Middle East. It is located in the Al-Rai industrial area, along the Fifth Ring Road. The first phase of the mall, inaugurated by Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, officially opened in April 2007.

Mohammad Al-Shaya, the manager of Mabanee Company, the company in charge of building the mall, said that "The Avenues is one of the plans that aim to transform Kuwait into a business center and trade region, for rebuilding the ability of Kuwait to attract investments from all over the world".

The Project

The project contains four phases:

The mall is expected to have over 900,000 square meters of usable space upon completion in 2011, with 371,000 square meters dedicated to useable retail space. This would make the mall larger than the rival Dubai Mall and place The Avenues as the fourth largest mall in the world in terms of useable retail space.
